Responsibilities
  • Be a vital part of our nursing team as a Charge Nurse on PACU. In this role, you'll oversee patient care and provide leadership to our nursing staff during your shift. You will play a key role in ensuring our patients receive the highest quality care.
  • Supervise and direct nursing staff on the shift.
  • Assign patients to nurses based on patient acuity and staff skills.
  • Assess, monitor, and educate the nursing staff on patient care. Institute emergency procedures as necessary.
  • Anticipate staffing needs and respond proactively.
  • Oversee stocking of supplies and update patient records to ensure readiness for subsequent shifts.
  • Understand how to recognize and deal effectively with conflicts at various levels; apply this understanding appropriately.
  • Possess knowledge of decision-making processes and tools; analyze situations to reach informed, productive decisions.
  • Comply with healthcare policies, laws, and regulations; demonstrate ethical behavior in diverse situations.
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (e.g., ADN) required; actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field (e.g., BSN/BBA/BHA).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse.
  • Current CA Registered Nurse License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; other credentials may be required.
  • PALS certification required.
  • LA City Fire Card required within 90 days of hire.
