Job summary

St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Stockton, CA is seeking a Nurse Shift Manager in the Neuro Telemetry 4 West department to lead a team of frontline nurses delivering patient care.

You will advocate for your staff and align daily operations with the unit’s goals, ensuring high-quality service and patient safety. Ideal candidates hold an AS in Nursing, an active CA RN license, 2 years of clinical RN experience and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Associates of Science in Nursing
• Two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients.
• Advocate for fellow nurses to help them reach their potential and meet department goals.
• Communicate effectively in 1:1 interactions and in group settings; hold tough conversations when needed.
• Collaborates with area supervisors to support the hospital's community health role.
• Assist in implementing a unit Quality Management Program aligned with hospital-wide Performance Improvement Plan.
• Operate the units within the financial and productivity guidelines, setting goals and policies that support this objective.
• Provides for quality services by ensuring that the staff are well trained in the services to be provided.
• Addresses, escalates or resolves unit issues, including problem resolution related to customer complaints, concerns and suggestions.
