Job summary

The Timbers of Jasper, part of American Senior Communities, is seeking a Nurse Scheduler to support our nursing team by ensuring appropriate staffing levels for excellent resident care. The role emphasizes organization, problem-solving, and strong relationships with staff in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates hold an Indiana RN or LPN license, completed medication administration training, and demonstrate CARE values along with outstanding communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain the nursing schedule while managing employee availability, PTO, call-ins, and schedule changes.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director and Director of Nursing Services to communicate staffing needs and shortages while ensuring compliance with budgetary, state, and federal guidelines.
• Proactively manage call-ins, open shifts, and unexpected staffing needs to maintain appropriate coverage.
• Provide clear, timely communication regarding schedules, open shifts, and staffing needs to nursing staff.

The Nursing Schedule Coordinator plays an important role in supporting our nursing team by ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained to provide excellent resident care. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, problem-solving, building relationships with staff, and working in a fast-paced environment.

Skills Needed

• Organization: Create and maintain the nursing schedule while managing employee availability, PTO, call-ins, and schedule changes.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Director and Director of Nursing Services to communicate staffing needs and shortages while ensuring compliance with appropriate budgetary, state, and federal guidelines.
• Problem Solving: Proactively manage call-ins, open shifts, and unexpected staffing needs to maintain appropriate coverage.
• Teamwork: Support the nursing team through fair and consistent scheduling practices and work toward the shared goal of providing excellent resident care.
• Interpersonal Communication: Build positive relationships with nursing staff and provide clear, timely communication regarding schedules, open shifts, and staffing needs.
