Job summary

The Timbers of Jasper, part of American Senior Communities, is seeking a Nursing Schedule Coordinator to support our nursing team by maintaining staffing levels for resident care in Jasper, Indiana.

Must hold an Indiana RN or LPN license and demonstrate strong organization, communication, and problem‑solving abilities to balance staff availability with regulatory requirements and budget considerations.

Qualifications

• Must have RN or LPN license.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Experience in geriatric nursing or senior care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain the nursing schedule, managing availability, PTO, call-ins, and changes.
• Communicate staffing needs and shortages to the Executive Director and Director of Nursing Services while ensuring regulatory and budget compliance.
• Proactively manage call-ins, open shifts, and unexpected staffing needs to maintain adequate coverage.
• Support the nursing team with fair scheduling practices and clear, timely communications about shifts and needs.

The Nursing Schedule Coordinator plays an important role in supporting our nursing team by ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained to provide excellent resident care. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, problem-solving, building relationships with staff, and working in a fast-paced environment.

Skills Needed

• Supportive Presence: Create a comforting and engaging atmosphere for our residents and team members.
• Organization: Create and maintain the nursing schedule while managing employee availability, PTO, call-ins, and schedule changes.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Director and Director of Nursing Services to communicate staffing needs and shortages while ensuring compliance with appropriate budgetary, state, and federal guidelines.

Problem Solving: Proactively manage call‑ins, open shifts, and unexpected staffing needs to maintain appropriate coverage.

• Teamwork: Support the nursing team through fair and consistent scheduling practices and work toward the shared goal of providing excellent resident care.
• Interpersonal Communication: Build positive relationships with nursing staff and provide clear, timely communication regarding schedules, open shifts, and staffing needs.

Requirements:

• Successful completion of a state approved training program in medication administration.
• Indiana RN or LPN license.
• Strong passion for geriatric nursing and commitment to senior care excellence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
