Looking for Registered Nurses for 3:00p-11:00p shifts!
This position comes with a $1,000 Sign On Bonus!

Salary range: $31.25-$40.50 per hour.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will be working with adolescents, typically 12–18 years old, who may have mental health concerns, developmental or intellectual disabilities, or are diagnosed on the Autism spectrum. The Registered Nurse is an integral part of the treatment team, providing healthcare services to ensure all health and safety needs are met. This position is responsible for the care and treatment of individuals with Autism, Intellectual Disability, and/or mental illness.

  • Conduct medical assessments of individuals.
  • Decide interventions following the nursing process.
  • Provide education on medical issues and concerns to individuals, their families, and employees as indicated on their care plans and diagnoses.
  • Follow medical protocols within the nursing scope of practice, established by psychiatrists and general care physicians.
  • Monitor the medical states of individuals and adjust care as appropriate.
  • Monitor and document all instances of physical intervention and the responses of youth.
  • Manage medications (including atypical psychotropic medications) and monitor responses.
  • Perform other duties listed on the responsibility checklist as required.
  • Assist with nursing duties in the OCFS houses as needed.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education:

Minimum Degree Required: AAS / BSN Degree from an accredited Nursing school

Experience:

Minimum Experience Required: 1-2 years working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred

Required License/Registration/Certification:

  • NYS RN Licensure
  • NYS Driving License

Training:

  • Therapeutic Crisis Intervention
  • SCIP-R
  • CPR

Physical Requirements:

•Strength: Sufficient to assist with lifting, transferring patients, and performing CPR.

•Mobility: Sufficient to bend, stoop, move rapidly, and in confined spaces.

•Hearing: Adequate to hear through a stethoscope, alarms, cries for help, and emergency signals.

•Vision: Adequate to assess patients and equipment physically.

•Communication: Capable of verbal and written interactions with clients, staff, and supervisors.
