Job summary

Vanderheyden Hall Inc. in Troy, NY is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to provide health services to adults with developmental disabilities in community residences.

The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate healthcare needs, maintain medication supplies, and ensure documentation. Requirements include NYS RN license, nursing degree, and driver’s license. This is a part-time position located in Troy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program.
• Valid New York State RN license.
• Valid driver's license with a clean MVR.
• Experience in mental health, developmental disabilities, or community nursing.
• Available to work at least one shift per pay period.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a health file for each individual admitted into our programs.
• Develop and implement a nursing care plan, including routine prophylaxis and individualized services.
• Provide ongoing nursing assessments as needed.
• Review health care provider documentation and implement recommendations in time.
• Maintain an adequate supply of medication for individuals in school/day program.
• Other tasks as needed by business requirements.

Skills

Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides health services to the individuals in the care of the agency. The RN will provide care for adults with developmental disabilities in community residences in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act and our regulatory agencies. The RN will also be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the healthcare needs of individuals and documenting the findings.

Primary Duties & Essential Functions:

• Create and maintain a health file for each individual admitted into our programs.
• Develop and implement a nursing care plan, which provides for routine prophylactic care and individualized services as noted in the admission assessment.
• Provide ongoing nursing assessments as dictated by the individual’s needs.
• Review documentation received from health care providers and implement the recommendations given by the provider within an appropriate time period.
• Maintain an adequate supply of medication for individual use in school/day program.
• As this list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive, other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as business needs require.

Required Education, Knowledge and Skills:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.

Pay: $32.00 per hour
