Job summary

Newton Village, a Cassia community, is seeking on-call Registered Nurses (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to support our residents in Newton, Iowa. This flexible opportunity allows you to pick up shifts while making a meaningful impact in the lives of older adults.

As a Nurse at Newton Village you will administer medications, collaborate with a dedicated team, and ensure quality care in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Must have Iowa RN or LPN license in good standing.
• CPR certification required or willing to obtain.
• Experience in Long Term Care preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Self-starter with ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Displays a courteous attitude and respect for all residents, families, and staff.
• Coordinates, oversees, and provides resident-related care.
• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders and monitors effectiveness.
• Manages medications, supplies, and equipment per policies and procedures.
• Documents care using computerized medication administration and charting software.
• Notifies Clinical Manager and physicians of significant changes and follows up as needed.

Position Type: On-call

Location: 110 N 5th Ave W, Newton, IA 50208

Nurse responsibilities

• Displays a courteous attitude and respect for all residents, families, and staff.
• Works to coordinate, oversee, and provide resident-related care.
• Administers medications and/or treatments in accordance with physician's orders and monitors for effectiveness/response.
• Manages medications, supplies, and equipment including ordering, receiving, storing, and disposing of all items in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Documents care using computerized medication administration and charting software.
• Notifies Clinical Manager, attending physicians, and family members of significant changes in a resident's condition, and takes follow up action as necessary.

Nurse Qualifications

• Must have a current Iowa RN or LPN license and be in good standing.
• Must have CPR certification or willing to obtain
• Experience in Long Term Care preferred.
• Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
• Self-starter with a desire to be a part of a team.
