About the MGH Main OR

Mass General Hospital’s Operating Room department consists of a dedicated team of OR nurses, Surgical Technologists, Equipment Techs, OR Assistants, and OR Coordinators who care for patients undergoing complex surgeries.

  • Work hours include days, with rotation to evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call; potential for permanent evening or night shifts with weekends, holidays, and call required
Job Summary

Responsible for interpreting medical care plans, assessing patient care, ensuring safe and competent nursing care, providing individualized care, and evaluating care outcomes.

  • Maintain accurate reports and records
  • Administer medications and monitor reactions

  • Monitor and report patient condition changes

Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's Degree Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Licenses: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Experience: 0-1 year clinical nursing experience required
  • Skills: Knowledge of nursing principles, patient care across age groups, confidentiality, medical terminology, communication skills, and triage ability
