Job summary

UF Health in Jacksonville is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide expert patient care in Labor & Delivery/Women's Services. The RN will apply the nursing process, participate in team-based care, and assume charge nurse responsibilities when assigned.

Flexibility to float across units within scope is required to support patient needs. Ideal candidates hold an active Florida RN license, BLS, ACLS/NRP/FHM where applicable, and demonstrate teamwork and adaptability in a fast-paced obstetric

Job description

Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse. The RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and function as charge nurse when assigned. The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities/tasks may be delegated to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and/or Sitters. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served. All team members will be expected to work all areas of their unit. 3N RNs will be required to work MB, NBN, and attend deliveries. The LD RN will be required to work LD, WAC, LD PACU, and the LD OR. NICU/NICU SD will be required to work both areas. All Women Service team members will be required to float between units as needed to work within their scope of practice.

• Associate’s Degree
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• BSN Requirement: New hires effective June 14, 2017, must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position.
• Employees hired or transferred between August 1, 2013 and June 13, 2017 must follow the requirements outlined in their offer letter and the job description signed at the time of hire or transfer.
• Employees hired or transferred into the position before August 1, 2013 are grandfathered under the applicable requirements.

• Effective March 1, 2021, employees must recertify fetal monitoring every two (2) years, along with the required divisional update based on assigned learning.

Requirements

Fellowship RNs

Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)

• CPI training is required for employees working in the Psychiatric Unit.
• Initial training must be completed within 90 days.
• Training must be completed annually thereafter.
