Staff Nurse Opportunity - Ellison 10
  • This is an exciting opportunity to work on Ellison 10, a 36-bed adult, fast-paced Cardiac Medical Stepdown Unit.
  • The unit provides intermediate level care to patients requiring cardiac monitoring for arrhythmias, unstable coronary syndromes, heart failure, and other vascular or medical diagnoses.
  • Patients may require coronary or peripheral procedures, diagnostic, and interventional procedures that need expert cardiac care.
  • Electrophysiology and arrhythmia post-procedural care patients may also be admitted here.
  • The unit offers high-quality, patient-focused care within a supportive care delivery model.
  • It is the designated teaching floor for medical residents learning about cardiac patient care.
  • Shifts are 12 hours with self-scheduling options available.
  • Opportunity to work on similar units (Ellison 11) when staffing needs arise.

  • Ability to work day/night rotations, 39-40 hours/week, including weekends.
Job Summary

Responsible for interpreting the medical care plan, assessing patients' clinical decisions, ensuring safe and competent nursing care, providing individualized care, and evaluating nursing outcomes.

Patient care is required for this role.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain accurate reports and records.
  • Administer medications and monitor for reactions.
  • Record vital signs and medical information.
  • Monitor and report patient condition changes.
  • Coordinate with healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans.
  • Modify treatment plans based on patient responses.
Additional Qualifications

Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's preferred. No experience in lieu of degree accepted.

Licenses: Registered Nurse license in MA required.

Experience: 0-1 year clinical nursing experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Familiarity with nursing principles, medical terminology, confidentiality, excellent communication, and triage skills.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequent walking, lifting, reaching, handling, and visual and auditory acuity among others detailed above.
