Job summary

Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL is seeking a Nurse Resident for Acute Care in Med/Surg. This is a 12-month residency for RNs with under one year of experience, offering structured training, preceptorship, and bedside clinical experience.

Responsibilities include patient care, collaboration with the care team, and ongoing professional development; required licenses/certifications and participation in the Nurse Residency Program are emphasized.

Qualifications

• RN license in Florida or multistate license (NLC)
• Nursing degree or diploma
• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC required for certain areas

Responsibilities

• Administers bedside patient care under supervision of a preceptor/charge nurse.
• Assesses patients and develops/revises plans of care; evaluates progress.
• Collaborates with medical staff and multidisciplinary team to plan and manage care.
• Acts as preceptor, unit educator, or nurse clinician as needed.
• Documents care meeting regulatory standards and maintains patient safety.
