Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking a Graduate Nurse Resident (Non-Exempt) to join the ICU Stepdown team on the night shift. This full-time RN role focuses on transitioning intermediate acuity patients from critical care to Med/Surg with supportive technology and a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Missouri RN license or compact license required.
• BLS required; ACLS/NIHSS/PCCN preferred.
• Experience in ICU Stepdown or critical care is helpful.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality care for intermediate acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg level.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using evidence based practices.
• Perform accurate hand offs and bedside shift reporting to maintain patient safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and multidisciplinary partners to optimize patient outcomes.
• Administer medications, monitor complex conditions, and support recovery.
• Participate in huddles, shared governance activities, and unit-based quality improvement initiatives.
