Job summary
Wellpath / Correct Care Solutions in California seeks a licensed nurse to oversee quality assurance in a correctional setting. As a Nurse Quality Assurance Coordinator, you will collect and analyze performance data, ensure records meet state and federal standards, and support CalAIM program implementation.
Based at Santa Maria or Santa Barbara County Jail, the role requires strong data analysis, reporting skills, and knowledge of Medi-Cal requirements.
Qualifications

Responsibilities
- Collects, analyzes, and oversees quality performance data and related data entry.

- Performs and coordinates medical record and documentation reviews to abstract relevant data.
- Prepares and generates reports on performance against quality indicators and CalAIM metrics.

The Quality Assurance Coordinator manages the collection, review, and sharing of quality performance data within a correctional health care setting. Working under the direction of site leadership, the position helps ensure documents and records meet required protocols and state and federal health care standards. The role supports compliance and quality improvement initiatives focused on CalAIM programs. It plays a key part in monitoring performance, identifying gaps, and supporting accountability for services provided to the justice-involved population.
- Collects, analyzes, and oversees quality performance data and related data entry

Education

Experience
- Minimum one (1) year of experience
- Two (2) or more years of experience working in a QA setting or hold certificate in quality (i.e. Green Belt, Certified Quality Technician, Quality Improvement Associate or Quality Inspector)
- A background in healthcare quality assurance and a solid understanding of CalAIM policies and Medi-Cal requirements are essential for success in this role.
- Previous correctional/detention facility experience
Licenses/Certifications
- Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS certification through AHA
- Current (and must maintain) lifesaving ACLS certification through AHA
This position is available only to those who reside in the United States.

Candidates should be licensed nurses in California with quality assurance experience, strong analytical and reporting skills, and a solid understanding of healthcare regulations and quality improvement processes. This position can be based at either the Santa Barbara County Jail or Santa Maria facility, depending on the location you prefer!
