Job summary

West Texas Centers seeks a highly motivated Nurse Practitioner (APRN/PA) to provide integrated physical health services to children, adolescents, and adults receiving behavioral health and/or IDD services. This role delivers comprehensive primary care, orders labs, manages medications, and collaborates with behavioral health teams to support whole-person care.

Applicants must hold a current Texas Nurse Practitioner license (or relevant PA license) and a valid Texas RN/NP credential.

Qualifications

• Current Texas Nurse Practitioner license or applicable PA licensure.
• Current Texas RN/NP credentials as required.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical health evaluations for patients across age groups.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions following guidelines.
• Prescribe and monitor medications with consideration of psychiatric medications.
• Order and review labs, screenings, and diagnostic studies.
• Provide chronic disease management and routine outpatient primary care.
• Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans.
• Coordinate physical health with behavioral health and IDD teams.
• Provide referrals to specialists and community resources.
• Deliver patient education and promote shared decision-making.
• Deliver care in person and via approved telehealth platforms.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.

West Texas Centers is seeking a highly motivated Nurse Practitioner (APRN/PA) to provide integrated physical health services to children, adolescents, and adults receiving behavioral health and/or IDD services. This position offers a competitive salary of $165,000 along with a comprehensive benefits package, including a health plan, paid holidays, generous personal time off, employee assistance program, and more.

Salary: $165,000

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive initial and periodic physical health evaluations.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Prescribe and manage medications using evidence-based guidelines and patient
  preferences.
• Order, review, and monitor laboratory tests, screenings, and diagnostic studies.
• Provide chronic disease management and routine outpatient primary care.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
• Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, and potential drug interactions, including
  interactions with psychiatric medications.
• Coordinate physical health services with behavioral health and IDD treatment teams.
• Provide referrals to specialists and community resources as appropriate.
• Provide patient education and promote shared decision-making.
• Provide clinical consultation and leadership to interdisciplinary treatment teams.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and high-risk case reviews.
• Provide trauma-informed, respectful, and patient-centered care.
• Deliver services in person and through approved telehealth technology.
• Maintain timely and accurate medical records and required documentation.
• Collaborate with the assigned physician supervisor and follow WTC policies, procedures,
  and formulary requirements.
• Assist with physical health emergencies and provide consultation to staff as needed.

Position Requirements:

• Current Texas Nurse Practitioner (APRN) license or applicable PA licensure.
• Current Texas Registered Nurse/APRN license for Nurse Practitioner candidates.
• Must have and maintain a Valid Driver's License and driving record that is acceptable for
  insurability through our insurance carrier.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.
