Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking Physicians (MD/DO), Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants to serve as independent contractors performing general medical disability exams for Veterans. This role partners with Veterans Evaluation Services (VES) for the VA in Austin, TX, with flexible 4- or 8-hour shifts and fast onboarding.

Open to providers in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedics, or general medicine, the position offers an evaluation‑only, low‑risk environment and requires DMA

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted state license required.
• Board certification for NP (ANCC/AANP) where applicable.
• NCCPA certification for PAs.
• DMA certification status and willingness to complete DMA certification.

Responsibilities

• Complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) for Veterans.
• Review medical/military records, conduct structured interviews, and perform limited physical assessments (ROM, muscle strength).
• Provide objective medical opinions related to service connection.
• No treatment, prescribing, or ongoing patient care.
