Job summary

Albany Medical Center's Department of Urology is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join a busy general urology practice in Albany, NY. The position offers outpatient care in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with potential four 10-hour days after onboarding.

Responsibilities include evaluation, diagnosis, in-office procedures (testosterone and Eligard injections), patient education, and coordination with attending urologists and staff. Experience with Epic EMR is a plus.

Qualifications

• License and active registration as an RN/NP or PA in New York State.
• Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records; Epic experience a plus.
• Collaborate effectively across departments to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care and maintain HIPAA confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of general urologic conditions.
• See both scheduled patients and same-day urgent add-ons for concerns such as hematuria, UTIs, elevated PSA, and kidney stones.
• Perform in-office procedures, including testosterone and Eligard injections.
• Conduct patient education, follow‑up visits, and medication management.
• Collaborate closely with attending urologists, nursing staff, and administrative support staff to ensure high‑quality patient care.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging and laboratory studies.
• Document patient encounters and treatment plans accurately in the electronic health record.
• Participate in quality improvement and practice efficiency initiatives.

The Department of Urology at Albany Medical College is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our busy and collaborative general urology practice. This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive outpatient urologic care in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Position Highlights

• Full-time Monday-Friday schedule
• Clinic hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Upon completion of onboarding and training, four 10-hour days may be available.
• Primary sites: South Clinical Campus (Albany) and Niskayuna
• Average 18-20 patients per day once fully trained
