Job summary

University of Utah in Hurricane, Utah is seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive healthcare at the Juvenile Justice and Youth Services Washington County Youth Center. You will manage patient panels, provide primary care, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in a rural, underserved setting.

You will have autonomy, mentorship, and opportunities to teach while supporting vulnerable youth across Utah.

Qualifications

• Utah licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Master’s degree in Nursing or equivalency and national certification.
• Utah prescriptive privileges.
• Credentialing and privileging at time of hire per UHPPM 1-56.
• Immunization per CDC standards; exemptions limited by policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical examinations and identify health changes.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests for primary care conditions.
• Develop differential diagnoses and manage emergencies/triage.
• Provide health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education.
• Maintain complete medical records and participate in quality improvement.
• Serve as preceptor for students and collaborate with clinic staff.

Education

Master’s degree in Nursing or equivalency

National Certification

Utah prescriptive privileges

ACLS / BLS / NRP / ATLS credentials (optional)
