Owensboro Health Medical Group in Leitchfield, KY is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to diagnose and treat acute or chronic conditions in collaboration with a physician.

The position requires state licensure (RN and APN) in Kentucky, national board certification, and the ability to provide preventive care, prescribe medications, and educate patients and families. Full-time, 80 hours per pay period, Mon-Fri hours.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in Nursing required upon hire.
  • RN licensed in Kentucky required upon hire.
  • APRN license in Kentucky required upon hire.
  • National certification from recognized nurse practitioner boards required upon hire.
  • Neonatal or pediatric NP certifications accepted upon hire.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

In collaboration with a physician, diagnoses and treats certain acute or chronic health conditions in specific populations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
  • Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic studies.
  • May be required to perform preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations, and care.
  • Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
  • Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
  • Provides care in the context of promoting age and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision- making, and the right to self-determination.
  • Provides accurate and timely documentation of assessment and patient care plan.
  • May coordinate the registration functions including collecting and entering demographic, insurance, employer information, and co-payments.
