Owensboro Health Medical Group in Leitchfield, KY is seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to diagnose and treat acute or chronic conditions in collaboration with a physician. You will provide evidence-based care across populations in a busy clinical setting.

Responsibilities include history taking, diagnostics, treatment, patient education, and accurate documentation, with emphasis on preventive care and coordinating with patients and caregivers.

Qualifications

Master's degree or higher in Nursing.
RN license to practice in Kentucky required.
APRN license in Kentucky required.
National certification in APRN specialty (AANP / other).
ACCN/ AACCN/NCCCOGN / PNCB / ANCC credentials preferred.
Neonatal Nurse Practitioner certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

Obtain patient history and perform assessment.
Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies.
Provide direct treatment with prescriptive authority or referrals.
Counsel patients and families on prevention and care.
Document care plans accurately.
Coordinate registration functions (demographics, insurance, co-pays).

Job Summary

In collaboration with a physician, diagnoses and treats certain acute or chronic health conditions in specific populations.

Job Responsibilities

Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic studies.
May be required to perform preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations, and care.
Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
Provides care in the context of promoting age and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision- making, and the right to self-determination.
Provides accurate and timely documentation of assessment and patient care plan.
May coordinate the registration functions including collecting and entering demographic, insurance, employer information, and co-payments.

Skills and Attributes

Works under direct supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
