Responsibilities

• Read the room during family meetings and slow the pace when grief outruns information.
• Advocate for patient comfort, dignity, and informed consent.
• Hand off at shift change using SBAR, leaving no gaps for the incoming practitioner.
• Calibrate equipment and log quality-control checks every shift.
• Prep and verify Patient Assessment specimens for the lab, labeling at the bedside in front of the patient.
