Job summary

Lifepoint Health seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide primary and acute healthcare services in accordance with scope and standards of practice. The role includes patient history, assessment, documentation, ordering and interpreting diagnostics, and delivering preventive care.

You will provide direct treatment, counseling, and education to patients and families, emphasizing informed choices, shared decision making, and culturally appropriate care.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nursing and current NP license in state of practice.
  • Current and active RN license in state of practice.
  • Current DEA license.
  • BCLS certification.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare regulations.

Position Summary

Provides primary or acute healthcare services for certain acute or chronic health conditions in specific populations in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
  • Documents patient care performed, assessments made, and orders given.
  • Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic studies.
  • Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations, and care.
  • Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions, including use of prescriptive authority and referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
  • Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health and wellness, treatment options, and community resources.
  • Provides care in the context of promoting age- and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision making, and the right to self-determination.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other additional duties and responsibilities as agreed upon in employment contract and in accordance with all Physician Services Guidelines.

Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors.

Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information.

Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.
