Job summary

Curana Health in the United States is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to deliver high-quality mental health care across SNF, LTC, AL, and IL settings. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide patient-centered psychiatric services and ensure continuity of care for seniors in post-acute and long-term care.

The role requires NP licensure in the practiced state, ANCC PMHNP certification, DEA license, and BLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner with PMHNP credential.
• Active DEA license.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Current NP license in state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric care and rounding in SNF, LTC, AL, and IL settings.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and facility staff for coordinated care.
• Assess and manage residents' mental health needs and medical histories.
• Order/interpret labs and tests; develop treatment plans.
• Prescribe/administer medications; provide injections as needed.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and mental health practices.
• Coordinate acute care needs with other care team members.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Psychiatric Care and Rounding: Conduct patient rounds and manage psychiatric care within SNF, LTC, AL, and IL settings.
• Collaborative Care Coordination: Partner with attending physicians, consulting specialists, referral sources, and facility staff to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care.
• Patient Evaluation and Management: Assess and manage the mental health needs of residents, perform physical exams, and gather complete medical histories.
• Diagnostics and Therapeutics: Order and interpret lab and diagnostic tests, make preliminary diagnoses, and develop effective therapeutic care plans for mental and physical health.
• Medication and Treatment Management: Prescribe and administer medications and treatments; provide injections as necessary.
• Patient and Family Education: Educate patients and families on medications, care plans, and preventive mental health practices.
• Acute Care Collaboration: Work alongside physicians and facility teams to address acute psychiatric and medical needs promptly and effectively.

Full-time employees are eligible for Curana Health’s full benefits package. Part-time employees may be eligible for limited benefits as applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and ANCC certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
• Active DEA license.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.

This role requires travel to and from one or more assigned facilities. Depending on the amount of travel required, Curana may in future determine that a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record are required.
