Job summary

East Alabama Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, obtain medical histories, and identify priority care needs. The role requires NP certification, RN licensure in Alabama, and BLS within 90 days of hire. Experience preferred in hospital settings.

The NP will order tests/consults, implement plans of care, and ensure accurate documentation and outcome evaluation within a collaborative care team.

Qualifications

• BSN and MSN or post-master certificate for NP.
• One year of healthcare experience preferred in a similar setting.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Adult NP certification and RN licensure in Alabama.

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs and documents patient physical assessment to identify priority care needs, obtains a detailed medical history, identified patients at physiological and/or physiological risk. Performs procedures necessary to implement plan of care, orders tests and consults as required by plan of care. Accurately documents all patient care activities and evaluates the outcome of patient care.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors in Nursing, and Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice or graduate of post masters certificate program for nurse practitioner
• Preferred one year of medical experience from a similar setting.

Required Registration/License/Certification

• BLS Certified within 90 days of hire
• Adult NP Certificate RN.
• Certification for advanced practice Licensed or eligible for licensing in Alabama.
• Registered Nursing License
