Ochsner Health in New Orleans seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to work collaboratively with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff caring for outpatient clinic patients. Duties are under supervision of Medical Director or approved physician, in partnership with PCCs, nurses, and discharge coordinators.
Responsibilities include primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization, teaching, patient education, and discharge planning.
This role works collaboratively with residents, fellows, attendings, and other staff caring for outpatient clinic patients. Duties are performed under the supervision of the Medical Director or an approved staff physician and in partnership with PCCs, staff nurses, and discharge coordinators. Key responsibilities include primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization of critically ill patients, teaching residents and medical students, staff development, patient education, and discharge planning.
Medium work: occasional lifting of 20‑50 pounds, frequent lifting of 10‑25 pounds, and occasional lifting of ≤10 pounds as needed. Must stand for prolonged periods and stoop, bend, reach, and grab with arms and hands. Routine duties may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues. Work occurs in a patient care area with potential exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications or waste. Reasonable accommodations can be made for disabilities.
