Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Pediatric Trauma Program Lead Coordinator to provide clinical and administrative leadership for the pediatric trauma program at UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center, Worcester.

This on-site, full-time role guides a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality pediatric trauma care and advance quality, safety, education, and performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in PA/NP program required.
  • Current MA PA/NP license and national certification required.
  • DEA registration and MA CSR required.
  • PALS certification required.
  • 3–5 years pediatric trauma, emergency medicine, critical care, surgery, or trauma program management experience.
  • Leadership and collaboration skills essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide continuity of care for trauma and general surgery pediatric patients in-patient and follow-up.
  • Lead planning, implementation, and ongoing management of the pediatric trauma program.
  • Ensure compliance with ACS, state, and regulatory trauma standards and verification.
  • Partner with physicians, APPs, nursing leadership, EMS, and hospital admin to meet goals.
  • Direct the PIPS program with case reviews, quality monitoring, and corrective actions.
  • Analyze trauma data, outcomes, and TQIP reports to identify trends for improvement.
  • Oversee trauma registry operations, data collection, reporting, and regulatory submissions.
  • Coordinate trauma education, simulations, and continuing education for staff and trainees.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor, promoting best practices and family-centered care.
  • Lead injury prevention initiatives with community partners and schools.
  • Maintain readiness for trauma verification reviews and present outcomes to leadership.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary program dedicated to delivering exceptional pediatric trauma care while advancing quality, safety, education, performance improvement, and injury prevention initiatives.The Pediatric Trauma Program Manager oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the pediatric trauma program. This role ensures compliance with state, regional, and national trauma standards, including American College of Surgeons verification requirements, while partnering with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and advance trauma care delivery.The Program Manager serves as a clinical leader, educator, and collaborator across the continuum of pediatric trauma care.
