Job summary

American Family Care (AFC) is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner or Certified Physician Assistant to join our urgent care team. You’ll provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced outpatient setting, with autonomy and support from a collaborative clinical group.

We offer a stable schedule—1 full shift per week (hours of operation), 1 weekend per month, and 1 holiday per year—plus competitive base pay with performance bonuses, ongoing CME resources, and comprehensive

Qualifications

• Active state license as NP (ANCC/AANP) or PA (NCCPA) is required.
• 2+ years of urgent care, family medicine, or emergency care experience.
• Active BLS certification or ability to obtain within onboarding period.
• Excellent communication skills and patient-centered mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in urgent care.
• Manage acute conditions, infections and injuries.
• Perform minor procedures (suturing, splinting, I&D).
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, X-rays, EKGs).
• Counsel patients on care plans and preventive health strategies.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and collaborate with physicians.

What You’ll Do

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
• Manage acute conditions, infections, and injuries
• Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, and incision & drainage
• Conduct comprehensive physicals, including DOT and employment exams
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, X-rays, EKGs)
• Counsel patients on care plans and preventive health strategies
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and team members to ensure quality care

Who We’re Looking For

• Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) with an active state license or Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA) with an active state license
• 2+ years of experience in urgent care, family medicine, or emergency care
• Skilled in urgent care procedures and comfortable in a fast-paced clinic
• Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered mindset
• Active BLS certification required or must be obtained within defined onboarding period
