Job summary

American Family Care (AFC) is seeking a Part-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our urgent care team. You’ll provide high-quality care without overnight shifts, with a schedule that includes a weekly shift, a rotating weekend shift, and one holiday per year.

You’ll assess patients of all ages, diagnose and treat acute conditions, perform procedures, conduct DOT and employment exams, order tests, and collaborate with supervising physicians.

Qualifications

• Active state license required for NP or PA.
• 2+ years in urgent care, family medicine, or emergency care.
• Strong communication and patient-centered approach.
• Must hold or obtain BLS certification within onboarding period.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in urgent care.
• Manage acute conditions, infections, and injuries.
• Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, and I&D.
• Conduct DOT and employment physicals and related exams.
• Order and interpret labs, x-rays, and EKGs.
• Counsel on care plans and preventive health strategies.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and care team.

As a Part-Time Provider, You Will Be Committing To a Minimum Of The Following Scheduling And Can Always Add More Shifts As Needed

• 1 weekend shift per month (consecutive Saturday and Sunday)

What You’ll Do

• Conduct comprehensive physicals, including DOT and employment exams
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, X-rays, EKGs)
• Counsel patients on care plans and preventive health strategies
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and team members to ensure quality care

Who We’re Looking For

• Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) with an active state license or Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA) with an active state license
• 2+ years of experience in urgent care, family medicine, or emergency care
• Skilled in urgent care procedures and comfortable in a fast-paced clinic
• Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered mindset
• Active BLS certification required or must be obtained within defined onboarding period
