Job description

APRN: Nationally certified licensed healthcare provider who provides primary and/or specialty nursing and/or medical care in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions in collaboration with a physician according to a standard care arrangement and specialty certification. Practice emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention, and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems. Certifications may include: acute care, adult, family, gerontology, psych and mental health, neonatology, pediatrics, and women's health.

PA: Nationally certified licensed healthcare provider who provides primary and/or specialty medical care (the practice of medicine) in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions in collaboration with a physician, performs complete histories and physicals on patients of all ages, establishes and records current health status, and develops diagnosis and treatment plans. This includes daily examinations, writing orders, chart notes, discharges, and summaries. PAs are privileged by the Board of Governors. PAs in hospital care provide outpatient and/or hospital-based care to patients with complex, acute, and chronic conditions, performing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions as needed.

Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital for Rehabilitation seeks a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to provide outpatient services to infants and children up to age 8. Responsibilities include diagnosing and managing developmental delay, intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorders, behavioral disorders including ADHD, and screening for learning disorders. Experience with these populations is preferred but not required. New graduates are welcome; training will be provided.

Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct thorough histories and physical examinations, order and interpret tests, and collaborate with the healthcare team.
  2. Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures as credentialed and privileged.
  3. Prescribe and monitor medications as permitted by license and policies.
  4. Educate patients about their conditions and treatments.
  5. Participate in medical rounds and collaborate with team members.
  6. Refer patients to specialists when necessary.
  7. Ensure continuity of care and serve as a liaison among care team members.
  8. Participate in quality monitoring and discharge planning.
  9. Support professional development and promote evidence-based practices.
  10. Conduct research and assist in data collection and analysis.
  11. Serve as a clinical preceptor and onboard new staff.
  12. Other duties as assigned.
Education:

APRN: MSN required upon hire or within 3 years; graduate of an accredited APRN program. Neonatal care applicants require a master's degree upon hire.

PA: Graduate of an ARC-approved Physician Assistant Program with a master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or higher.

Languages:

English proficiency required.

Certifications:

NP: Current RN and Nurse Practitioner licensure, national certification, BLS, and ACLS/PALS or NRP as applicable. Must have arrangements with a physician.

CNS: Current licensure and certification, BLS, ACLS/PALS or NRP, and physician arrangements.

PA: Certification by NCCPA, licensure, DEA license, BLS, ACLS/PALS/NRP/ATLS as applicable, physician supervision agreement, and privileges.

Additional Requirements:

Related clinical experience preferred. Physical demands include walking, standing, manual dexterity, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. PPE use required.
