Job description

The Myocardial Infarction Nights Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides advanced nursing care and physician support during patient treatment. The Nurse Practitioner offers leadership and support within the specialty, documents patient teaching, refers and communicates abnormalities to physicians, performs clinical procedures, and serves as a resource for staff regarding patient and disease management. The role involves comprehensive health assessments and managing acute complex health problems for admitted patients, outpatients, and ED admissions.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 3 years of APN/PA experience, preferably in cardiac specialty
• 3-5 years of RN experience preferred
• Current NJ License/Board certification, ACLS, BLS, DEA

Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school
• MSN with Advanced Practice Nurse credentials
• Minimum 5 years of RN/specialty experience
• Effective communication and leadership skills, including teaching, organizational, and presentation skills
• Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of Nurse Practitioner experience

Licenses and Certifications:

• Required: Advanced Practice Nurse License, AHA Basic Life Support Certification
• Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification

For Physician Assistants:

• Completion of an accredited physician's assistant program (AMA accredited)
