UW Health in Madison is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Advanced Practice Provider team in neurosurgery. You will deliver high-quality care to adult neurosurgery patients across inpatient units and clinics, collaborating with academic faculty, residents, fellows, surgeons, and nursing staff.

The role includes clinic follow-ups, inpatient rounding, and First Assist duties in the OR, with opportunities in NSICU, SICU, MICU, and acute care settings.

Competenze

• Master's or Doctorate from accredited Nursing Program.
• Bachelor's or Master's from accredited PA Program.
• Active Wisconsin NP or PA licensure.
• Active DEA license or ability to apply prior to hire.
• Active board certification for NP or PA.
• Prescriptive authority where applicable.

100% FTE, 4-10 hour shifts, Core hours between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM and 5:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Future weekend rotation.

As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in our inpatient and ambulatory care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients.

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to:

• Provide care to adult clinical and research neurosurgery patients on the Neuro General Units and Neurosurgery Clinics.
• Work in collaboration with faculty, residents, fellows, surgeons, and nursing staff to provide on-going patient care and management.
• See new and followup neurosurgery patients in the clinic setting.
• Perform inpatient rounding on general neurosurgery patients.
• First Assist in the OR

Education

Minimum -

If Nurse Practitioner:

Master's or Doctorate's degree from accredited Nursing Program.

If Physician Assistant:

Bachelor's or Master's degree from accredited PA Program.

Licenses and Certifications

Minimum - State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure.

If Nurse Practitioner*:

• Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
• Active board certification as a NP in area of clinical practice. These may include the following: Adult, Adult/Geriatric Acute Care, Adult/Geriatric Primary Care

If Physician Assistant*:

• Active PA license, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
• Active PA board certification

All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have*: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire.

*Active license or eligibility to obtain active licensure in state of practice. This may include licensing in Wisconsin and other state(s) of practice.
