Stanford Health Care is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Functional Neurosurgery team. This outpatient-only role offers the opportunity to work in a rapidly advancing field that transforms patients’ lives through surgical interventions for neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, tremors, and more.
As an APP in this role, you will work alongside a collaborative, multidisciplinary team of surgeons, fellows, APPs, and RN coordinators to provide comprehensive care. You'll have a balance of independent patient visits and shared clinics with neurosurgeons, playing an integral role in patient assessment, surgical planning, and device-based treatment.

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) functions under this Nurse Practitioner Job Description approved by the Interdisciplinary Practice Committee (IDPC). The NP provides routine care and management of patients with acute and chronic complaints, in collaboration with the supervising physician, and through implementation of standardized procedures. Specific functions are established by the NP and supervising physicians, and approved by relevant committees.
There is a voluntary Career Ladder for NPs interested in promotions for clinical expertise and contributions to the institution and profession. Promotion is based on the Center for Advanced Practice Career Ladder Handbook, with levels I, II, and III based on experience and qualifications.
