Job summary

American Family Care (AFC) seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our urgent care team. You’ll provide high-quality care across all ages, focusing on efficient, compassionate service in a fast-paced clinic.

You’ll diagnose, treat, and manage acute conditions, perform minor procedures, conduct DOT and employment exams, order tests, and collaborate with physicians to deliver outstanding patient outcomes. Competitive pay and benefits available.

Qualifications

• Must hold ANCC/AANP NP or NCCPA PA certification with active state license.
• At least 2+ years in urgent care, family medicine, or emergency care.
• Strong communication and patient-centered approach; BLS current or obtainable on onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting.
• Manage acute conditions, infections, and injuries.
• Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, and incision & drainage.
• Conduct comprehensive physicals, including DOT and employment exams.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, X-rays, EKGs).
• Counsel patients on care plans and preventive health strategies.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and team members to ensure quality care.

What You’ll Do

Who We’re Looking For

• Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) with an active state license or Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA) with an active state license
• 2+ years of experience in urgent care, family medicine, or emergency care
• Skilled in urgent care procedures and comfortable in a fast-paced clinic
• Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered mindset
• Active BLS certification required or must be obtained within defined onboarding period
