First Coast Heart & Vascular in Palm Coast, FL is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a primarily outpatient cardiology position. The role combines clinic care with limited hospital responsibilities and shared call coverage in a physician-led setting.

The ideal candidate has NP/PA training, Florida licensure or eligibility, board certification, and a strong interest in cardiovascular medicine. Cardiology experience is preferred but not required; new grads are welcome.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program.
• Current national board certification.
• Active Florida license or eligibility before start date.

Responsibilities

• Conducting initial consultations and follow-up appointments.
• Assessing cardiovascular symptoms and managing acute and chronic conditions.
• Creating and adjusting treatment plans in partnership with physicians.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies including EKGs, labs, imaging, and stress tests.
• Prescribing and monitoring medications within scope of practice.
• Helping patients understand conditions, options, and cardiovascular risk reduction.
• Coordinating care with staff, referrals, and specialists.
• Maintaining timely electronic medical records.
• Participating in shared hospital rounding and call coverage.

Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Cardiology

First Coast Heart & Vascular is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a primarily outpatient cardiology position in Palm Coast, Florida. The role combines clinic-based patient care with limited hospital responsibilities and shared call coverage.

Your Role on the Team

Work alongside general cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, and electrophysiologists to evaluate and treat patients with a broad range of cardiovascular conditions. Responsibilities include:

• Conducting initial consultations and follow-up appointments
• Assessing cardiovascular symptoms and managing acute and chronic conditions
• Creating and adjusting treatment plans in partnership with physicians
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, including EKGs, laboratory testing, cardiac imaging, and stress tests
• Prescribing and monitoring medications within your scope of practice
• Helping patients understand their conditions, treatment options, and ways to reduce cardiovascular risk
• Coordinating care with clinical staff, referring providers, and specialists
• Maintaining thorough and timely electronic medical records
• Participating in shared hospital rounding and call coverage

Work Schedule

• Full-time clinic schedule, Monday through Friday
• Predominantly outpatient care with limited hospital coverage
• Weekend hospital call shared with another APP
• Remote weekday evening and overnight call from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
• Monday off after a weekend of call coverage

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should have:

• Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program
• Current national board certification
• An active Florida license or eligibility for licensure before the start date
• A strong interest in cardiovascular medicine
• Effective clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills
• A collaborative approach and commitment to patient-centered care

Cardiology experience is preferred but is not required. Newly graduated Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants are welcome.
