Qualifications

  • Experience as a Nurse Practitioner: 0-1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, and/or procedural settings.
  • Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
  • Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
  • Orders medications and writes prescriptions in accordance with organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.

The Wentworth-Douglass Center for Heart Health is proud to be a member of the Mass General Brigham Heart and Vascular Institute, providing patients with access to world-class cardiovascular care, advanced diagnostics, and specialty expertise. As part of this integrated system, we combine the convenience and personalized approach of local care with the resources, innovation, and expertise of a leading academic health network. As we continue to enhance our general Cardiology services, this position will help support comprehensive inpatient coverage at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. We are seeking a Per Diem APP who will be utilized for as-needed, day-shift coverage on the inpatient team at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. The primary need for coverage is on Saturdays; however, this hire will also be able to fill in open 8-hour shifts during the week.

Summary

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations, including those with medical and/or surgical conditions, as well as providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, developing appropriate plans of care, and conducting ongoing evaluations.
