Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a highly skilled NP/PA to serve as a surgical first assistant in the cardiovascular OR. You will harvestRadial arteries and saphenous veins, and perform inpatient pre-operative workups and consultations with leading surgeons.

The role requires a Master’s in NP/PA, Michigan licensure, national certification, and RNFA, BLS, and ACLS credentials, with a minimum of 2 years OR first-assist experience in cardiac surgery.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited NP/PA program.
• Current Michigan licensure as NP or PA.
• National certification (ANCC/AANP for NP; NCCPA for PA).
• DEA registration and Michigan CDS license (PA only).
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• RNFA certification.
• Minimum 2 years of OR first assist experience in cardiac surgery.

Responsibilities

• Current Michigan licensure as an NP or PA

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) certification
• Minimum 2 years of OR first assist experience in cardiac or cardiovascular surgery

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with vein harvesting and radial artery procurement
• Prior experience working with cardiothoracic surgical teams
