Overview

Under the guidance of the medical director, the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with various health conditions according to departmental guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assess physical and psychosocial status through interviews, exams, and diagnostics
• Recognize deviations from normal health assessments and collaborate with physicians on treatment plans
• Prescribe medications and treatments based on diagnostics and protocols
• Determine patient eligibility for clinical trials
• Request consultations and interpret study results
• Communicate patient care information to physicians
• Administer therapeutic measures and obtain specimens
• Evaluate and improve the quality of care
• Implement therapeutic plans and follow-up care
• Maintain documentation, conduct health services, and participate in rounds
• Provide on-call coverage and patient triage
• Manage symptom control for oncologic treatments

Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies

Experience: 1-3 years in a clinical setting preferred

Licenses and Certifications: Michigan Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant license and BLS certification
