Essential duties include comprehensive medical care, detailed assessments, minor procedures, treatment planning, emergency response, and collaborative care with mental health professionals.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing (NP) or completion of an accredited PA program.
• At least one year of experience as a licensed and certified APP.
• Current NP or PA licensure in Georgia.
• Current DEA registration.
• BLS Certification must be obtained by first day of work.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care to patients per clinical standards.
• Conduct medical assessments including physicals and history reviews.
• Perform minor procedures such as laceration repair and incision & drainage.
• Develop treatment plans and prescribe medications while monitoring for interactions.
• Respond to medical emergencies and initiate lifesaving interventions.
• Manage chronic conditions to promote stability and prevent complications.
• Collaborate with mental health professionals to support integrated care.
• Promote preventive care and health education.
• Maintain accurate, compliant documentation of patient encounters.
• Follow security protocols within the correctional environment.

Description:

FirstClass Healthcare is seeking a skilled and mission-driven Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide high-quality medical care within a correctional healthcare environment. This role offers autonomy, a supportive clinical team, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes in an underserved population.

Scope of Work: Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care to patients, ensuring alignment with FCH clinical standards.
• Conduct detailed medical assessments, including physical exams, history reviews, and diagnostic evaluations.
• Perform minor procedures such as laceration repair and incision & drainage (I&D).
• Develop individualized treatment plans and prescribe medications while monitoring for side effects and interactions.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate lifesaving interventions.
• Manage chronic medical conditions to promote stability and prevent complications.
• Collaborate with mental health professionals to support integrated care for psychiatric conditions.
• Promote preventive care, health education, and communicable disease mitigation.
• Consult with medical leadership and contribute to clinical protocol development.
• Maintain accurate, compliant documentation of all patient encounters.
• Follow all security and safety protocols within the correctional environment.
• Maintain professionalism, ethical conduct, and confidentiality at all times.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and required meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support FCH’s mission and values.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing (NP) or completion of an accredited PA program.
• At least one year of experience as a licensed and certified APP.

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Current NP or PA licensure in the State of Georgia.
• Current DEA registration.
• BLS Certification (required by first day of work).

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or correctional healthcare.
• Board certification in a relevant specialty.
