Job summary

Quality Correctional Health Care is a physician-owned company providing inmate healthcare services in correctional environments. We seek an on-site Nurse Practitioner in Macon County, IL.

You will deliver NP services to inmates, issue medical orders, and document encounters in the medical record. Responsibilities include QA/risk management and staff education, plus coordinating with jail administration and external providers as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing is required.
• Must have current and valid CRNP license.
• Must have a current, unencumbered license in the state of practice.
• 1-3 years of NP experience preferred.
• Experience working in corrections preferred.
• Current BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nurse practitioner services on-site to inmates at QCHC facilities.

• Document all clinical encounters in the medical record.
• Participate in QA, risk management, and staff education activities.

Employee will be expected to:

• Give appropriate medical orders to direct medical and nursing care provided by QCHC nursing staff at sites.
• Document all clinical encounters in the medical record
• Participate in the quality assurance, risk management, and staff education activities
• Coordinate and communicate with jail administration as necessary
• Participate in meetings with jail administration, Sheriffs, and/or other county officials as needed; work with off-site healthcare providers as necessary.
