Job summary

Quality Correctional Health Care is seeking a Part-Time Nurse Practitioner to provide on-site NP services to inmates in Decatur, IL. Candidates should have a Master’s degree in Nursing, CRNP licensure, and an active state license, with BLS certification.

Responsibilities include directing medical and nursing care, documenting encounters, QA participation, and coordinating with jail administration and external providers as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing required.
• Must have current and valid CRNP license.
• Current, unencumbered license in the state of practice.
• 1–3 years NP experience preferred.
• Corrections experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide nurse practitioner services on-site to inmates at QCHC’s facilities.
• Give appropriate medical orders to direct medical and nursing care provided by QCHC nursing staff at sites.
• Document all clinical encounters in the medical record.
• Participate in quality assurance, risk management, and staff education activities.
• Coordinate and communicate with jail administration as necessary.
• Participate in meetings with jail administration, Sheriffs, and/or other county officials; work with off-site healthcare providers as necessary.
