Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive patient care across the disease process, under physician supervision, in alignment with Texas Nursing Practice Act and Hospital standards.

The role requires Texas NP education and a background in acute/trauma or palliative care, with licenses in good standing and BLS/ACLS/PALS as applicable. Experience in hospice or palliative care is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the State of Texas, or Acute Care NP program if Trauma area.
• Two+ years' experience in palliative care or hospice for ACNP, or ACHPN certification for FNP with Palliative Care.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive patient care through assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management and follow-up.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team; acts under physician supervision and adheres to protocols.
• Documents histories, exams, tests and outcomes; manages treatment plans and interventions.
• Educates patients and families on care resources and options.
• Ensures safety and quality within Memorial Hermann policies and budgetary constraints.
