Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner is an Advanced Practice Practitioner who is accountable for a "defined" patient population. Functions as an expert practitioner, consultant, educator, patient advocate, care coordinator and researcher within a specialized area of practice. Provides direct health care to patients, families or communities or guides care by other professionals, using the medical model within scope of licensure and applicable law and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for a defined patient population.
• Serve as expert practitioner, consultant, educator, patient advocate, care coordinator and researcher.
• Provide patient care in accordance with the medical model and VCH policies.
• Submit Scope of Practice and credentialing documents to the Medical Staff office.
• Be on call according to a predetermined schedule or as needed based on hospital needs.

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing and graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program.
• Licenses and Certifications: RN – Registered Nurse; NP – Nurse Practitioner; NP‑C – National Certification.
• Credentialing: Successful completion of the credentialing process via CIDP, including written standardized protocols and furnishing privileges.
• Certification within six (6) months of hire: NP‑C; within 30 days: BLS; within 12 months: PALS (if applicable); within 12 months: ACLS (if applicable).
• Work Experience: Minimum one (1) year related experience required; minimum five (5) years preferred, demonstrating professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice, physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and management of acute and chronic pediatric problems.

Skills and Abilities

• Bilingual skills preferred.
• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Compensation

Range: $71.40 – $113.75 per hour.

Work Details

Shift: Day (United States of America). Position exempt. Full‑time equivalent: 50% (12 scheduled weekly hours, 8 hours daily).
