Job summary

Ochsner Health in Slidell, LA is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our outpatient care team. You will deliver patient care under supervision, utilize approved medical practices, and participate in education for patients, families, and staff.

The position requires state licensure as APRN or PA, BCLS/ACLS, and prescriptive authority eligibility. Flexible scheduling and travel between facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing for Nurse Practitioner.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences.
• Current APRN license in the state of practice.
• NCCPA certification for Physician Assistant or PA licensure.
• BCLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Eligible for Prescriptive Authority as per State Board requirements.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the approved medical practices process in delivery of patient care.
• Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria for ages served.
• Maintains an attitude of inquiry towards medical practices and patient care outcomes.
• Provides education experiences to patient families, staff, other health professionals, and the community.
• Adapts communication and care to patient population and privacy expectations.
• Performs other related duties as required.
