Job Overview

Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Radiology Fluoroscopy section in the Department of Radiology. The role functions as an extender to the radiologist, managing patient care for fluoroscopic examinations, ensuring protocol adherence, and facilitating communication among the patient, imaging team, and clinical providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Acts as a physician (radiologist) extender: patient management, protocol placement in EPIC, and ensuring procedural safety.
• Manages the fluoroscopic schedule and verifies all clinical history, contrast type, and delivery mechanism.
• Facilitates communication between patients, radiologists, technologists, and the care team.
• Performs and assists with general fluoroscopic studies (e.g., video swallow, barium enema, cystograms) and complex cases such as NJ and GJ tube placements.
• Provides preliminary imaging reads and generates reports for fluoroscopic examinations.
• Educates attending physicians, fellows, residents, and staff on exam performance, protocol updates, and best practices.
• Develops and updates fluoroscopic protocols and participates in quality‑improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Registered ARRT (R) and licensed by the Ohio Department of Health.
• Fluoroscopy experience preferred.
• Compliance with CCHMC licensure and certification requirements.
