Job description

Riley Hospital for Children is looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Pediatric Hematology/Oncology team!

Our vision is to improve the health of children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer and blood disorders through innovative, quality driven, family-centered care, cutting edge research and the education of current and future leaders.

Position Details:

  • Full-time, Rotating schedule
  • 12 hour & 24 hour shifts
  • In house on call overnight
  • 100% inpatient
  • Group includes 39physicians and 25advanced practice providers

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage oncology patients in the inpatient setting on a daily basis
  • Participate in team rounds
  • Primary responsibility will be working in the inpatient setting for pediatric hematology/oncology
  • Managescheduled chemotherapy patient visits, side effects of treatments, round with on service team
  • Perform independent, comprehensive assessments of patients receiving oncology treatments
  • Act as a resource for residents covering the oncology inpatient service
  • Perform procedures in this role
  • This role would work collectively with attending, practitioners, and nurses on both the solid tumor and leukemia teams
  • Help establish and grow a new role within the division

Qualifications:

  • ACNP, FNP, PNP, or PA certification required
  • Hematology /Oncology experience as an RN or APP required
