Job summary

Indiana University Health Medical Group is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Orthopedic team in Bloomington, IN. The position is full-time, days, 40 hours per week, with 10% inpatient and 90% outpatient duties; call is not required.

Responsibilities include first assist in surgery, joint injections, and managing new, established, and post-operative patients. Orthopedic experience is preferred; new grads with strong interest may be considered.

Qualifications

• ACNP, FNP, or PA board-certified or eligible.
• Orthopedic experience or exposure to sports medicine highly preferred.
• 2–3 years of clinical experience preferred; new grads with strong orthopedic interest may be considered.

• Work independently in the sports medicine clinic to support physicians/practice.
• See new patients, established patients, and post-operative patients.
• Occasionally assist in Orthopedic Injury clinic during regular hours.

Position Details

• Full-Time Days
  • Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri
  • 40 hours/week-4-10 hours days (may not be exact schedule)
• Call is not required. However, there may be opportunity to cross train for orthopedic inpatient coverage, if desired.
• 10% Inpatient
• 90% Outpatient

Procedures

• First Assist in surgery, Joint Injections, Joint Fracture reductions, other procedures

Job Responsibilities

• Perform independently in the sports medicine clinic to support current physicians/practice
• Provider will see new patients, established patients, post operative patients
• Will occasionally help in the Orthopedic Injury clinic during regular hours
• Potential to include clinic at an outlying satellite location

Qualifications

• ACNP, FNP, PA
• Orthopedic experience/exposure to sports medicine and treatment
• General Orthopedics knowledge for treatment of fractures/acute injuries.
• 2-3 years' experience preferred but will consider a new grad with Strong interest in Orthopedics.
