Mayo Clinic's La Crosse Cardiology practice seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to deliver comprehensive direct and indirect patient care in outpatient clinics and inpatient settings, including rounds and consultations.

The role requires strong communication within a multidisciplinary team; licensure in Wisconsin as an APRN/PA with BLS and DEA credentials; full-time, day-shift, Mon-Fri, 80 hours per pay period.

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared, WI RN and APRN license, and FNP/ANP/AGNP certification.
• Physician Assistant: PA with NCCPA certification and WI PA registration.
• Active BLS certification and DEA registration; ability to provide inpatient and outpatient cardiology care; strong communication within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in outpatient clinic and inpatient services, including rounds.
• Communicate changes in patient condition and coordinate with physicians; participate in a team-based care model.

Responsibilities

The La Crosse Cardiology practice is a progressive and growing practice including general cardiology, interventional cardiology and electrophysiology. The role of the general cardiology nurse practitioner/physician assistant includes providing comprehensive direct and indirect patient care including outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital service including clinic return/established patients, inpatient consultations and rounding.

The position requires the ability to communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient's clinical condition; results of diagnostic studies; and patient symptomatology as appropriate. In response to changes in patient condition; accurately and effectively modifies therapeutic interventions. Our team-based care model requires strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate and work together as part of a team.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current WI RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP, or AGNP.

Physician Assistant: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a Physician Assistant by the WI Medical Examining Board.

Additional Qualifications:

• Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required
• Ability to provide both inpatient and outpatient cardiology care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
