Allina Health Cancer Institute is seeking an Oncology Infusion Advanced Practice Provider to join our team serving the North region of the Twin Cities, including Minneapolis and surrounding communities. This full-time role includes infusion center responsibilities and virtual acute add-on visits.

The APP collaborates with Hematologist/Oncologists and other APPs, participates in survivorship and onboarding programs, and provides high-quality care in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Minimum 1 year of Advanced Practice Provider experience.
• Experience in internal medicine, urgent care or acute care.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical care for oncology infusion patients as part of a physician/nurse team.
• Completes comprehensive patient assessments and documents findings.
• Orders and interprets diagnostics in collaboration with the attending physician.
• Prescribes medications, treatments and medical equipment for oncology patients.
• Delivers patient education and manages chronic or survivorship care.
• Triages benign hematology referrals and participates in program development.
• Collaborates with Hematology/Oncology team and participates in cross-functional care.

Key Position Details:

The Allina Health Cancer Institute is seeking an Oncology Infusion Advanced Practice Provider to join the practice. This role will provide services in the North region of the Twin Cities within the communities of Minneapolis and the surrounding areas.

• Full-time position. Monday- Friday business hours.
• Team includes Hematologist/Oncologists and Advanced Practice Providers.
• The role covers the infusion center. In addition, this role will see oncology/hematology patients virtually for acute add-on visits.
• Conduct virtual hematology visits.
• Assist with benign hematology referral triage.
• Provide inbox coverage for APPs at the associated main site.
• Participate in program development. (survivorship, benign heme, onboarding)

Job Description:

Provides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations as part of a physician/nurse team in accordance with the designated specialty. Works in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team.

Principle Responsibilities

• Provides clinical care for patients
  • Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
  • Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
  • Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
  • Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
  • Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
  • Refers for specialty care when determined.
  • Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Nurse Practitioner scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
• Participates in health care team
  • Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.
  • Acts as resource to members of the team.
  • Works with primary care team for program development.
  • Acts as liaison with outside agencies as needed.
  • Collaborates with hospital staff by consulting and rounding on patients if designated by the specialty.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree - Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant Program.
• 1 year of Advanced Practice Provider experience required
• Experience in internal medicine, urgent care or acute care.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer hematology/oncology experience.

Licenses/Certifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire ( NP)
• Certified Nurse Practitioner - American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification within specialty required upon hire or Certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA) - National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants within specialty required upon hire.
• MN NP/PA license required upon hire.
• Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below:
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• BLS certification from the American Red Cross
• Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)
• Drug Enforcement Administration required upon hire

Pay Range

Pay Range: $135,096 to $164,216 per yearThe pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
