Schedule Details/Additional Information:

Required to work 36 clinic hours a week, including one late night and a rotating Saturday. After-hours calls are part of the job on a rotational basis with a call group.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and determine treatment and management plans appropriate for patient age, acuity, and condition, including ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic studies, and prescribing interventions and therapies.
  • Manage conditions based on clinical indication, evidence-based care, cost-effectiveness, and risk/benefit assessments.
  • Provide health promotion, disease prevention, and management counseling and education to patients and families.
  • Manage patients within an interdisciplinary team, seeking consultation or referrals as appropriate, and escalating care when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, ensuring compliant coding and billing.
  • Facilitate coordinated care and communication among healthcare team members and community agencies.
  • Perform office or hospital procedures within scope of practice and privileges.

Other responsibilities include participating in quality and safety initiatives, organizational meetings, peer review, onboarding new team members, and maintaining professional development and productivity standards.

Must demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care, understanding growth and development principles, and interpreting patient data accordingly.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Active RN and APRN license(s) in state(s) of practice, with active national certification in clinical practice area, and active DEA registration prior to hire.
  • If practicing in Illinois, an active Illinois Controlled Substance License is required prior to hire.
  • Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Experience: No prior experience required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • High clinical proficiency and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a healthcare team.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and technology adaptation.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and twist continuously.
  • Functional speech, vision, touch, and hearing.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist, 20 lbs over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Operate necessary equipment.
