Job summary

Access Medical Clinic in Oklahoma seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (APN/PA) to serve as the primary care provider in a Rural Health Clinic. You will deliver individualized care for all ages, including pediatric and geriatric patients, focusing on comprehensive assessments and coordinated treatment.

You will diagnose, manage conditions, prescribe therapies, order tests, and educate patients while maintaining EMR documentation and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

  • MSN, DNP, MPAS, DMSc, or equivalent advanced clinical degree.
  • Active, unencumbered state license.
  • DEA and BLS certification.
  • DOT Certification.

Description

The Clinic Advanced Practitioner (APP) is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) who serves as primary provider in a Rural Health Clinic setting. In this role you will provide individualized care based on each patient's unique medical needs and lifestyle factors, including age, for optimal health and wellness in patients of all ages, including pediatric and seniors.

The APP plays a key part in the community by greeting individuals and promoting clinic services to effectively support the region.

Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including history, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Order, interpret, and review laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies.
  • Provide preventive care, health education, and patient counseling.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
  • Refer patients to specialists and follow up on consults as appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.
  • Lead clinic staff in behaviors, actions and attitude (e.g. Nurses, Receptionists) in delivering excellent patient care. Provide guidance as necessary to ensure quality professional services and patient satisfaction.
  • Maintain behavior that is compliant with Federal and State regulations, guidelines, and requirements including working knowledge of all health information management issues such as HIPAA.
  • The ability to maintain friendly, cordial relations with all clients and employees; maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that results in a positive work relationship with customers, co-workers and managers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • MSN, DNP, MPAS, DMSc, or equivalent advanced clinical degree.
  • Active, unencumbered state license
  • Currently registered/licensed in applicable State. Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
  • Nurse Practitioners must be permitted to treat all age groups, from infant to geriatric, as per their board specialty, such as Family Nurse Practitioner.
  • DEA and BLS certification.
  • DOT Certification
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills required: ability to deal with the public, patients, and fellow staff in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Knowledge of professional medical practice and care to give and evaluate patient care.
  • Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations, and procedures to administer patient care.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply treatment protocol guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to recognize medical condition requiring consultation with the collaborating physician, and to work with the collaborating physician, in person or by phone, on these and other cases outside the scope of established protocols.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the workday.
  • Must have functional speech, vision, touch, and hearing.
  • Must be able to:
  • lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
  • lift up to 20 lbs over the head.
  • carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
  • push/pull with 30 lbs of force.
  • perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present.
  • Operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Will be exposed to the following hazards: mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation as well as blood and body fluids; therefore, protective clothing and equipment (i.e., goggles, lead apron, gloves, gowns, etc.) must be worn as necessary.
