Geisinger ConvenientCare urgent care in Pittston, Pennsylvania is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our urgent care team. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating common illnesses, performing exams, immunizations and wellness services.

The schedule features rotating shifts, limited on-call, and no overnights. The role requires completion of an ARC-PA approved PA program, NCCPA certification or eligible, and PA licensure in PA.

Qualificações

• Nurse Practitioner candidates must have a PA license to practice in PA and NP certification eligibility.
• Experience with urgent care or primary care settings is preferred.

Job Summary

Geisinger ConvenientCare urgent care is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our urgent care team in Pittston, Pennsylvania

Job Duties

Our clinicians diagnose and treat common medical problems including sore throats, earaches, sinus infections, flu, urinary tract infections and more. Routine health exams, immunizations, screenings, and wellness services are also provided.

Attractive schedule: Office Hours - Monday - Friday 8:45 am – 8:15 pm Saturday & Sunday 7:45 am – 6:15 pm

• 14 rotating shifts/month
• Work every other weekend
• No overnight shifts, and no mandated additional shifts.
• Call – approximately six nights per year
• No direct patient call – for critical lab, CT, etc.
• Six observed holidays:
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Day
  • New Year’s Day

Experience

Experience is required

Due to the autonomous nature of the position, advanced practitioners must be able to treat patients from age one and older and have a minimum of six months advanced practitioner experience in primary care, emergency medicine, urgent care, or critical care.

Position Details

The successful Physician Assistant candidate will work under the responsibility and supervision of the physician and require completion of an ARC-PA (or predecessor organization) approved physician assistant program, current NCCPA certification or eligibility and Pennsylvania State licensure.

The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will work in collaboration with the physician and have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or be eligible to hold national certification that allows the NP to work with the patient populations and location settings associated with this position. Must be eligible for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of PA.

Education: Master’s Degree-Physician Assistant (Required)
